Join IAGT at our first IN-PERSON event since pre-COVID on Saturday, August 27th!
In place of our annual BBQ fundraiser, we have decided to team up with Paradise for an outdoor concert. Come hang out with us for a night of live music by Paradise, amazing food, and prizes!
April 2022
Join IAGT on our latest campaign which will run all April long. For this event we are asking donors to purchase an IAGT tote bag for $25, which will allow us to purchase necessary items to fill another bag which will be donated to the Jean Augustine Centre. The bag that will be given away will be filled with menstrual products, and other health and self-care items. While the other bag will be mailed to you!
December 2020
We hosts a virtual gingerbread house event.
Over the course of an evening we decorated gingerbread houses and had an open conversation about period poverty.
To raise donations, we sold gingerbread houses 4 weeks leading up to our event. Each purchase of a gingerbread house was a donation of 3 boxes of menstrual hygiene products.
September 2021
In September 2021 IAGT hosted a virtual 5km to raise money to help alleviate period poverty in Ontario. Participants were asked to track their 5km run in an app of their choosing, and send us a screenshot on your best run time. At the end of the month, we announced prizes for first, second and third!
We collected prizes from location small business in southern Ontario. All funds raised were donated to different organization across southern Ontario.
Due to COVID-19, we had to move our favourite events online!
On Thursday, September 3rd, 2020 we held a virtual cooking class lead by the BBQ legend himself, Eugene Yavtucovich.
During this event we learned how to cook Eugene's famous baked beans, while of course, having a little chat about period poverty.
We had a few awesome events lined up for spring 2020, which were unfortunately cancelled due to COVID-19. We wanted to acknowledge that the organizations with which we partnered were experiencing lower levels of donations.
We set a goal to raise $700 for 7 AMAZING charities and organization. These 7 organization help the vulnerable populations in the GTA.
We were able to raise of total of $2800 to help alleviate period poverty.
December 2019
We held our not-so-silent night fundraising event. It was an event filled with drink, games, laughs and most important chats about how we can all support period poverty.
To come the the event a donation of a menstrual hygiene product for women in need was required.
August 2019
This event was to celebrate 1 whole year of supporting women in poverty!
We hosted a FREE barbecue dinner for anyone in the area to learn about It's a Girl Thing and how to help support period poverty in the GTA.
June 2019
We held a booth at the Bolton Farmer's market.
We created a wall of empowerment, accepted donations while also chatting about period poverty.
